WELL US Study

WELL US stands for Wellness Equity by Lifting up Local Underreported Solutions.

The purpose of the study is to better understand the healthcare needs of Black, Brown, LGBTQ, Immigrant, Disabled and otherwise marginalized people of the Puget Sound region. We are interested in learning about the experiences of local communities, and examining the ways we have adapted to meet our health and wellness needs. Data collected will be used to inform the design of the Tubman Center for Health & Freedom’s healthcare delivery system, as well as meet the research needs of our community partners who took part in the design of the survey tool.

  • WELL US Phase I examined the barriers experienced when seeking care, as well as how community members already take care of themselves. Stay tuned for our Phase I report.
  • WELL US Phase II is in progress. Phase II is a deep dive into the health insurance industry and the role it can play in addressing the Social Determinants of Health and improving access for marginalized communities.
